Histopathology and Cytology
Our existing Histopathology and Cytology laboratory is located in a convenient central location at 46 Sir Donald Bradman Drive, Mile End, where we can perform fine needle aspiration cytology on palpable masses. We also travel to radiology practices throughout Adelaide to offer an on-site evaluation of specimen adequacy. The practice also offers a broad range of general cytopathological testing including fluid based cytology and respiratory cytology.
We have recently added a comprehensive gynaecological cytopathology service to our cytology department, which includes pap smear cytology, Thinprep liquid based cytology (offered free of charge) and all miscellaneous gynae cytological testing. Ancillary testing for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea are also available to be performed from the thinprep cytology vial. Please contact the cytology laboratory for details.
A mobile frozen section service to all the major private hospitals is available and our request forms and specimen containers are present at all these locations. We operate our own courier service with routine regular rounds to private hospitals and doctors surgeries, or can offer an on-call service to your rooms. Specimens can be readily collected from country locations.

Adelaide Pathology Partners provides a comprehensive histopathology service. The department has staff which man the laboratory on a 24 hour basis to provide a quick efficient pathology service. We have 7 pathologists with interests that include all major areas of pathology including:

Immunohistochemistry
Adelaide Pathology Partners provides a comprehensive immunohistochemistry service and has over 100 antibodies, which are useful in the diagnosis of a wide range of tumours including lymphoproliferative conditions, carcinoma of unknown origin, mesothelioma and melanoma. We run panels of antibodies daily to provide a quick turnaround time for results. The recent purchase of a Ventana automated immunostainer has aided in the standardisation of results.
Immunofluorescence
Adelaide Pathology Partners offers direct immunoflourescence test as an integral component of its dermatopathology and oral pathology service. This test requires specimen submission in Michels transport medium which can be forwarded to you from our laboratory.
Frozen Section
In-house and mobile frozen section service to all major metropolitan private hospitals. Bookings 1-2 days in advance are preferred to ensure staff availability.
