Dr Fergus Whitehead

Qualifications: BMBS, FRCPA, FIAC, dip cytopath RCPA

About:

Fergus graduated in medicine from Flinders University in 1988 and he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists in 1994. He spent 5 1/2 years at the IMVS following graduation and then spent 2 1/2 years at Clinpath laboratories. During his stay at Clinpath, he obtained two postgraduate qualifications in cytopathology. In August 2002 he joined Adelaide Pathology Partners as a partner, acquiring Dr Jane Lomax Smith's share in the practice following her decision to enter politics.

He also currently holds a VMO position at BreastScreen SA. Fergus is interested in all areas of anatomical pathology concentrating on gynaecological pathology, dermatopathology, thoracic pathology, gastrointestinal pathology and cytopathology.
